located this image on the internet as it was the closest and similar cycle to what we use at college.
I think that this is used because it is a simple process to go by an also it keeps things refined and in order.
One thing leads to another for example the research will move onto test and that will give results so it all goes into a order and looks profession al the same time.
Discover:
This is where you come up with ur ideas and what you want to do, at this tage you are also using minimalist research from where to get your ideas from. You can discover your work also via the internet, books, magazines, and different types of primary and secondary research.
I think that it is important that you come up with more than one idea at the time just in case if one of the ideas you have are being unable to be processed.
Research:
This comes up second in the development cycle, this is where you back your ideas up, our tutors have been telling us that the work that we have to create have to be similar to our research. We cant have work which has absolutely nothing to do with the research.
The research is where we get our ideas from by artists who inspire us.
On each assignment we have to produce about 6 artist research which is standard. If we were to research more for higher grade we would have to research about 11 artists for research.
When researching or our work it is important on what we should put in our sketchbooks and blogs.
Normally the tutors dont want information on where they were born so we have the list of Research Tips, this is a list of things to find out for example,
who their inspiration was? what context is there work?
if we like their work,
what does it remind us of?.

Test:
Test is where the students have their first photo shoot with the research they have collected and also the information of what their idea is.
The test shoot can either be shot outside which is a location shot, using location lighting or natural light, using different amount of props or not.
Otherwise you can do an inside shoot if that is what you want to do, this is normally called studio work, you can use the studio for various types of photography but does not give you this space of what you can have compared to a location shot.
Normally on test, our tutors tell us to get our ideas and research done quite quickly so that we can shoot early and test it, we then get the results of the shoot and if it is not what we expected or if there are things that we want to change then we can go for another shoot, this is good because you have plenty of time to do it.
Review:
Review is the part where you finish doing all of your shoots and then you write and evaluate your work. This goes from your original plans talking about if they worked and if you changed your ides and why?.
You will be also writing an evaluation which will ask you what techniques you use? and what artists inspired you for your shoot. It will also ask what equipment you have used for the shoot.
Separately you will write about the shoot and what you would change about it if you were to do it again.
